To begin, wind thread around forefinger of left hand 12 times (thus forming a ring). With crochet hook, work a rnd of s c closely together into ring just made. Join with sl st. Make rings for desired length and sew together on wrong side. For corners, work another ring as before, but do not break off. Ch 5 (to count as d tr), d tr in each of next 3 s c * holding the last loop of each d tr on hook; then, thread over hook and draw through all loops on hook, ch 4, d tr in each of next 4 s c. Repeat from * until 5 d tr-groups are made. Break off. Place d tr-groups so that each d tr-group is in center of each of 5 rings, and sew in place on wrong side.
