Nothing is daintier and more feminine than fine handmade lace edging your lingerie. Slips, panties, nighties – edge them for yourself – or edge them to make a trousseau type of gift.

Use
Clark's O.N.T. or J. & P. Coats Mercerized Crochet, sizes 50 to 80.
J. & P. Coats Tatting Cotton.

To begin, make a chain slightly longer than length desired, turn. 1st row: S c in 2nd ch from hook, s c in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. 2nd row: S c in 1st s c, ** ch 4, then make a Clones knot (to make a Clones knot, thread over hook, insert hook in 1st ch and draw out a loop, * thread over hook, pass hook under ch and draw out a loop. Repeat from * until there are 16 loops on hook. Thread over hook and draw through all loops on hook at once, ch 1, s c around ch at base of knot, drawing tight), ch 3, skip 7 s c, s c in next s c. Repeat from ** across. Ch 3, turn. 3rd row: * Skip 2 ch, s c in next ch, ch 4 (to count as tr), 3 tr and s c in same place as last s c made, skip Clones knot, into next ch make: s c, ch 4, 3 tr, s c. Then ch 3, sl st in s c, ch 3. Repeat from * across. Break off.
