To begin, ch 10, join with sl st to form ring. 1st row: 9 d c in 1st half of ring, * ch 10, sl st in 10th ch from hook (thus forming another ring), ch 3 (to count as d c), 8 d c in 1st half of ring just made. Repeat from * for length desired, having an uneven number of rings (d c-groups should be on alternate sides of foundation). Ch 10, turn. 2nd row: D c in each of next 8 d c with ch-10 between each d c, * ch 2, 8 d c in 2nd half of next ring, ch 2, d c in each d c in next ring with ch-10 between each d c. Repeat from * across. Break off.

Heading. 1st row: Working along other side of foundation, attach thread into circle of chain and in ring make ch-5 (to count as d tr), ** ch 3, 1 d tr in same ring. Ch 3, tr into 3rd d c of d c-group, * ch 2, skip 1 d c, tr in next d c. Repeat from * once. Ch 3, d tr in next ring, and repeat from ** across, turn. 2nd row: In each ch-3 sp make 3 d c and in each ch-2 make 2 d c. Break off.
