Make hairpin lace for desired length. Break off. 1st row: Attach thread to 1st 3 loops (taking care to keep twist). * Ch 11, s c in next 3-strand loop (keeping twist as before). Repeat from * across, ending row with s c in last 3-strand loop. Ch 4, turn. 2nd row: Skip 1 ch, d c in next ch, * ch 1, skip 1 ch, d c in next ch, ch 1, skip 1 ch, make 3 d c in next ch making ch-1 between each d c, ch 1, skip 1 ch, d c in next ch, ch 1, skip 1 ch, d c in next ch, skip last st of this loop and 1st st of next loop, d c in next ch. Repeat from * across. Break off. Attach thread at opposite side and, untwisting the loops throughout, s c in each loop, making ch-1 between each s c. Break off.
