J. & P. Coats Tatting Cotton.

Two-color edging—suggest Dark Lavender and Mid-Pink.

To begin, with Dark Lavender make a chain slightly longer than desired length, turn. 1st row: D c in 8th ch from hook, * ch 2, skip 2 ch, d c in next ch. Repeat from * across. Ch 1, turn. 2nd row: S c in 1st d c, * 2 s c in sp, s c in next d c. Repeat from * across. Ch 3, turn. 3rd row: D c in each of next 2 d c, * ch 2, skip 4 s c; in next s c make: 2 d c, ch 2, 2 d c, ch 2, 2 d c (shell); ch 2, skip 4 s c, d c in each of next 3 s c. Repeat from * across, ending row with d c in last 3 s c. Break off. With right side of 3rd row toward you, attach Mid-Pink in 1st d c, s c to 1st d c of shell, s c in next d c, s c in next ch, * ch 3, s c in next ch, s c in each of next 2 d c, s c in next ch. Repeat from * once. S c across to next shell and continue in this manner across.
