Starting at short end, ch 9, turn. 1st row: D c in 6th ch from hook, ch 2, skip 2 ch, d c in next ch. Ch 5, turn. 2nd row: Skip ch-2, d c in next d c, ch 2, skip 2 ch, d c in next ch. Ch 5, turn. 3rd row: Skip ch-2, d c in next d c, 3 d c in next sp, ch 3, d c in same sp, d c at base of sp. Ch 3, turn. 4th row: 4 d c in ch-3 sp, ch 3, 3 d c in same sp, d c in next d c, ch 2, skip 2 d c, d c in next d c, ch 2, skip 2 ch, d c in next ch. Ch 5, turn. 5th row: Skip ch-2, d c in next d c, ch 2, d c in next d c. Ch 5, turn. The 2nd to 5th rows incl. constitute the pattern. Work in pattern for length desired, ending with 5th row. Do not break off but, working along scalloped edge, s c on side of same sp, * ch 4, 5 s c in next ch-3 sp, ch 4, 5 s c in next sp, ch 4, s c in next sp. Repeat from * across. Break off.
