Hereafter work is done in rounds. 1st rnd: Sl st in sp, ch 3, 4 d c in same sp, d c in each d c and each ch-1 sp to within ch-7 loop, 5 d c in loop, ch 3, 5 d c in same loop, d c in each d c and each ch-1 sp across, 5 d c over ch-3 of last loop, ch 3, sl st in 3rd st of starting ch-3. 2nd rnd: S c in same place as sl st, ch 5, s c in next d c, ch 5, s c in next d c, * ch 5, skip 1 d c, s c in next d c. Repeat from * 5 more times, ch 5, s c in next d c, ch 5, s c in next d c, ch 5, s c in ch-3, ch 5, s c in next d c; ch 5 and work opposite side to correspond, ending with sl st in 1st s c made. Fasten off. 3rd rnd: Attach thread to 1st loop of previous rnd, s c in same loop, ch 5, * d c in next loop, ch 2. Repeat from * 8 more times, 3 d c in next loop, ch 3, 3 d c in next loop; ** ch 2, d c in next loop. Join last ch-2 with sl st to tip of 1st cluster made. 5th rnd: Sl st to center of ch of 2nd cluster of previous rnd, s c under same ch, ch 3, cluster in same ch, * ch 3, 2 d c in ch-1 of last cluster, cluster in same place as 1st cluster of cluster-group; ch 3, d c in next d c, ch 3, cluster in ch-3 of 2nd cluster of next cluster-group. Repeat from * around. Join and break off.

EDGING No. 8297B … Make a chain slightly longer than desired length. 1st row: D c in 8th ch from hook, * ch 2, skip 2 ch, d c in next ch. Repeat from * (number of sps should be divisible by 3). Ch 3, turn. 2nd row: * Skip 1 sp and d c; make a cluster in next ch—to make a cluster, make 3 d c in st, holding back the last loop of each d c on hook; thread over and draw through all loops on hook; ch 1 to fasten. Ch 3 and make a 2-d c cluster in tip of previous cluster; make a 3-d c cluster in the next ch of same sp (this completes a 3-cluster group). Ch 3, skip 1 sp, s c in next d c, ch 3 and repeat from * across, ending with ch 3, s c in 3rd st of turning ch. Ch 5, turn. 3rd row: * In ch-3 of center cluster make a 3-cluster group. Ch 3, d c in s c, ch 3- Repeat from *, ending with ch 5, s c in last ch.
