MATERIALS:
Use white, ecru or colors.

PETALS. 1st row: Ch 35. S c in 10th ch from hook, * ch 5, skip 4 ch, s c in next ch. Repeat from * across (6 loops). Ch 3. Do not turn. 2nd row: * 3 d c in next loop, ch 1. Repeat from * across, ch 5, 3 d c in same loop as last 3 d c, ch 1 and work along opposite side of loops as before. Fasten off. Hereafter pick up only the back loop of each st. 3rd row: Turn, attach 2nd color. S c in each d c and in each ch across, 2 s c in ch-5 loop, ch 5, 2 s c in same loop, s c in each d c and in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. 4th to 8th rows incl: S c in each s c across, s c in ch-5 loop, ch 5, s c in same loop, s c in each s c across. Ch 1, turn. Fasten off after 8th row. Attach 1st color, ch 7, turn. Hereafter pick up the double loop of each st. 9th row: * Skip 2 s c, s c in next s c, ch 7. Repeat from * across to within ch-5 loop, ch 7, s c in loop, ch 7, s c in same loop, ch 7, s c in next s c and continue thus across (23 loops). Ch 8, turn. 10th and 11th rows: * S c in next loop, ch 7. Repeat from * across. Ch 3, turn. 12th row: S c in next loop, ch 5, sl st in 5th ch from hook (p made), * s c in same loop, ch 4, s c in next loop, p. Repeat from * across. Fasten off. Make another petal same as this to the 11th row incl. For 12th row, ch 3, turn. S c in next loop, * ch 2, sl st in corresponding p of 1st petal, ch 2, s c back in same loop of 2nd petal. Ch 4, s c in next loop of 2nd petal. Repeat from * until 6 loops in all are joined and complete as for 1st petal. Fasten off. Make the necessary number of petals for desired length, joining to previous one as second was joined to first.

HEADING … Attach 1st color to loop at top of one scallop (next top-loop) on right side, and work along long side as follows: 1st row: * Ch 6, s c in next loop, ch 6, s c in next loop, ch 6, s c in 4th row of s c, ch 6, s c in center loop (between d c-groups), ch 6, s c at top of next center s c-row, ch 6, s c in next loop, ch 6, s c in next loop, ch 6, s c in top p of next petal. Repeat from * across. Ch 6, turn. 2nd and 3rd rows: * S c in next loop, ch 6. Repeat from * across. Ch 6, turn at end of 2nd row. Fasten off at end of 3rd row. 4th row: Attach 2nd color, ch 10, turn. Skip 1 loop, s c in next loop, ch 1, turn; ** 10 s c in loop just made. Ch 1, turn. Hereafter pick up only the front loop of each sc; * s c in each s c across. Ch 1, turn. Repeat from * 2 more times, ch 6, skip 1 loop, s c in next loop. Ch 1, turn. Repeat from ** across, ending with 4 short rows of s c. Ch 3, sl st in last loop. Fasten off. 5th row: Attach 1st color to tip of last s c-group. * Ch 8, s c in 1st s c of last s c-row of next group. Repeat from * across. Ch 4, turn. 6th row: * Skip 1 ch, d c in next ch, ch 1.
