Distinctive Edging Pattern #8515
MATERIALS:
We suggest thread in sizes 20 to 60
INSERTION No. 8515A … Center of design is worked first. 1st row: Ch 10; 3 tr in 10th ch from hook, holding back the last loop of each tr on hook; thread over and draw through all loops on hook (a cluster); ch 7, d c at tip of cluster; in same place as last cluster was made, make another 3-tr cluster; * ch 9, in ch-7 loop make 2 clusters with a ch-7 loop and a d c between as before. Repeat from * for length desired. Do not break off, but work along 1 long side as follows:
1st row: 15 d c in each ch-9 loop across; turn. 2nd row: Sl st in 1st 3 sts, s c in next st, ch 4 (to count as d c and ch-1), * d c in next st, ch 1. Repeat from * until 8 ch-1 sps are made; skip 3 d c of this scallop and 3 d c of next scallop, d c in next st, ch 1 and continue thus across, making 8 ch-1 sps over center section of each scallop. Ch 3, turn. 3rd row: S c in next sp, * (ch 3, s c in next sp) 7 times; s c in 1st sp of next scallop. Repeat from * across. Fasten off. Attach thread to 1st ch-9 loop on opposite side, ch 3 and work as for other side. Fasten off.
EDGING No. 8515B … Work center section and one long side as for insertion. For heading, attach thread to 1st ch-9 loop at opposite side, * ch 10, s c in next ch-9 loop. Repeat from * across. Fasten off.
