Use Clark's O.N.T. or J. & P. Coats Mercerized Crochet, size 30 or 50; or J. & P. Coats Tatting Cotton, size 70—and Milward's steel crochet hook No. 8, 9, 10 or 11.

With color ch 11, 10 s c over ch, 1 s c in 1st st of ch, * (ch 1, turn, 1 s c in each of 11 s c of last row) twice, ch 16, turn; skip 10 s c, 1 tr in 11th, ch 1, turn. 11 s c over ch leaving about 5 ch at end uncovered to equal the length of tr at other end of row. Repeat from * for length required. Fasten off.
2nd row: Join White to corner of 1st bar, and working down the side of lace, * ch 6, (4 s c, a ch-5 p, 4 s c) over next tr between bars. Repeat from *. Fasten off. 3rd row: Join to center of 1st ch-6 loop, * (ch 2, a ch-5 p) 3 times, ch 3, 1 s c in next ch-6 loop. Repeat from *. Fasten off. Repeat 2nd row on opposite side of 1st row.
Join to 1st ch-6 loop of last row, ch 11, 1 d c in next ch-6 loop, * ch 8, 1 d c in next ch-6 loop. Repeat from *. Fasten off.
