Bath and Boudoir
Here are new ideas for trimming your "extra special" linens. J. & P. Coats or Clark's O.N.T. Mercerized Crochet, sizes 30 and 50, are popularly used. Edgings and insertions crocheted of Clark's O.N.T. "Brilliant" have a rich, lustrous effect. For delicate laciness, use J. & P. Coats Tatting Cotton, size 70, or fine sizes of Mercerized Crochet.
Bath towel edgings are attractively made of Pearl Cotton, size 5, Clark's O.N.T. Cronita and J. & P. Coats Knit-Cro-Sheen—using Milward's steel crochet hook No. 5, 6 or 7.

Ch 10, join with sl st to form ring. 1st rnd: Work 16 s c into ring. 2nd rnd: Sl st in back loop of 1st sc. * Ch 4, a 2 d c-cluster in same st, ch 4, 1 sl st in same st, ch 6, skip 3 s c, 1 s c in back loop of next st. Repeat from * 3 more times. Instead of last ch-6, make ch 3 and a d c. 3rd rnd: * Ch 6, 1 s c in back loop of next cluster, ch 4, a 2 d c-cluster in same st, ch 4, 1 sl st in same st, ch 6, 1 s c in next loop. Repeat from * 3 more times. Instead of last ch-6 make ch 3 and a d c. Continue working around in this way until there are 6 rows of ch-6 loops and clusters. In each row, the loops will increase one on each side—the last row having 6 loops to a side. Fasten off. Repeat from beginning for desired length.
To join squares, work last row as follows: On 3rd cluster, work 2 d c, then ch 1, 1 sl st in a corner cluster of previous square, ch 1, 1 sl st back in top of last cluster, ch 4, 1 sl st at base of same cluster, ch 6, 1 s c in next loop, ch 6, 1 s c in next loop. * Ch 8, a 2 d c-cluster in 4th ch from hook, sl st in 3rd loop along side of previous square, ch 4, 1 sl st at base of cluster, ch 3, 1 s c in next loop. Repeat from * once, fastening cluster to next loop on previous square. Ch 6, 1 s c in next loop of last square, ch 6, 1 s c in next cluster, ch 4, a 2 d c-cluster in same place, ch 1, 1 sl st back in corner cluster of previous square, ch 1, 1 sl st back in last cluster, ch 4, 1 sl st at base of cluster, ch 6, 1 s c in next loop. Fasten off.
Heading row: Join to corner of 1st square, ch 17, a 3 d c-cluster in 3rd loop along top of square. * Ch 5, a 3 d c-cluster in next loop, ch 15, 1 half d c between corner clusters, ch 15, a 3 d c-cluster in 3rd loop along top of next square. Repeat from * across.
