   Here are new ideas for trimming your "extra special" linens. J. & P. Coats or Clark's O.N.T. Mercerized Crochet, sizes 30 and 50, are popularly used. Edgings and insertions crocheted of Clark's O.N.T. "Brilliant" have a rich, lustrous effect. For delicate laciness, use J. & P. Coats Tatting Cotton, size 70, or fine sizes of Mercerized Crochet.

   Bath towel edgings are attractively made of Pearl Cotton, size 5, Clark's O.N.T. Cronita and J. & P. Coats Knit-Cro-Sheen—using Milward's steel crochet hook No. 5, 6 or 7.

   To make motif, ch 18, a Clones knot of 8 loops over ch. (To make Clones knot seeTalking Tiger Lily Edging.) Ch 2, 1 d tr in 1st st of ch. * Ch 6, a knot, ch 2, 1 d tr in same st with last d tr. Repeat from * 9 more times, ch 6, a knot, ch 2, 1 sl st in 3rd st of ch from 1st knot. Fasten off. Make another motif, and before fastening off, ch 6, 1 sl st in a d tr of previous motif, ch 6, 1 sl st back in same place on last motif. Make motifs for desired length.

Heading row: Attach thread to 3rd d tr of 1st motif to right of joining with next motif. Ch 5 (to count as tr). * Ch 13, thread over 4 times, insert hook in next d tr of same motif, work off 3 groups of 2 loops each, leaving 3 loops on hook, thread over 3 times, insert hook in 2nd d tr from joining on next motif. Work off all loops on hook 2 at a time. Ch 12, 1 tr in next d tr. Repeat from * across.
