Materials: Clark's O.N.T. "Brilliant", 1 ball of Green for basket.
Clark's O.N.T. or J. & P. Coats Six Strand, 1 skein each of Pink and Yellow, for flowers.
Milward's steel crochet hook No. 10.

Basket. Starting at bottom, with Green, ch 30 (to measure about 2½ inches). Join with sl st to form ring. 1st rnd: Ch 3 (to count as d c), d c in each ch around. Join with sl st to 3rd st of ch-3 first made. 2nd to 7th rnds incl: Ch 3, d c in each d c around. Join with sl st to 3rd st of ch-3 first made. Turn work wrong side out after 7th rnd. 8th rnd: Sl st in next d c, * ch 5, skip 1 d c, s c in next d c. Repeat from * 5 more times, ch 5, skip 2 d c, s c in next d c. ** Ch 5, skip 1 d c, s c in next d c. Repeat from ** 5 more times, ch 5, s c in last sl st. 9th rnd: Sl st to center of next ch-5 loop, * ch 7, s c in next loop. Repeat from * around. 10th rnd: Make 8 s c in each loop around. Fasten and break off. This completes basket. Sew 2 bottom edges of basket together. Turn basket right side out, stuff solid part with cotton, and sew together at top d c-row.

Flowers. Starting at center, with 3 strands of Yellow ch 4. Join with sl st to form ring. 1st rnd: * Ch 3, d c in ring, ch 3, s c in ring. Repeat from * 3 more times. Break off. This completes one flower. Make another Yellow flower, and 4 Pink flowers.

Fold one side of ch-loops over solid part of basket. Place 3 flowers on each side of basket, as in illustration, having a Yellow flower in center, and sew in place, making a Green French knot at center of each flower.

Handle. Attach Green to one side of top d c-row of basket, and ch 45. Join with sl st to opposite side of same row (see illustration). S c closely together in loop. Break off.

Cord. Same as for No. 9007.
