MATERIALS—D-M-C Pearl Cotton, Art. 116D, Size 5: 2 balls Red No. 666 or No. 321 and D-M-C Six Strand Cotton, Art. 117C: 1 skein White.

Steel Crochet Hook, Size 7.

GAUGE: 9 sc = 1 inch; 10 rows = 1 inch

With Red ch 3. Row 1 (see Row 1 on Chart)—1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in next ch. Row 2—(see Row 2 on Chart)—Ch 2, turn, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook (1 inc. at beginning of row), 1 sc in each of next 2 sc, draw up a loop in same st as last sc, yo, thru 1 loop on hook, yo, thru 2 loops on hook (1 inc. at end of row; 4 sc in row). Work in same way following Chart to row 19 inc. where indicated. Row 19 (see Row 19 on Chart)—Even row—Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each sc across. Work in same way following Chart to row 36. Row 36—Decrease row—Ch 1, turn, slip st in first sc (1 dec. at beginning of row), 1 sc in each sc to last sc, skip last sc (1 dec. at end of row; 42 sc in row). Work to end of Chart dec. where indicated. Fasten off. Make 1 more piece to correspond. Block and press. FINISHING—Lay one piece on top of the other, sew the two pieces together, leaving a small opening. Stuff well with cotton then close opening. Separate White Six Strand Cotton in two 3-strand lengths, using 1 length, embroider Lazy Daisy Flowers (see Chart) as shown. With scrap of Yellow embroider a French-knot in center of each Flower. Sew a Lace ruffle around Pin Cushion.
