FIRST END … Ch 170 to measure 12½ inches. 1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, (ch 11, skip 7 ch, sc in next ch) 21 times. Ch 11, turn. 2nd row: * Skip 3 sts of ch-11 of last row, dc in next 5 sts, ch 3, d tr in next sc, ch 3. Repeat from * across, ending with d tr in last sc. Ch 1, turn. 3rd row: Sc in 1st d tr, * ch 7, sc in next d tr. Repeat from * across, ending with sc in 7th st of turning ch-11. Ch 1, turn. 4th row: Sc in 1st sc, ch 8, sc in 3rd ch from hook (picot made), ch 13, sc in 3rd ch from hook (another p made), ch 5, sc in same place as 1st sc (a p loop made); * ch 3, p, ch 3, sc in next sc, make a p loop, sc in same sc. Repeat from * across. Break off. To complete First End work 4th row along opposite side of starting chain. Break off.
CENTER … Attach thread in center st of an end p loop, ch 1, sc in same place where thread was attached, * ch 7, sc in center st of next p loop. Repeat from * across. Ch 4, turn. 2nd row: * 7 tr in sp, tr in sc. Repeat from * across. Ch 4, turn. 3rd row: Tr in 4 tr (1 bl made), (ch 3, skip 3 tr, tr in next tr) 40 times (40 sps over 40 bls made); tr in 3 tr, tr in top st of turning chain. Ch 4, turn. 4th row: Make a bl, (ch 3, tr in next tr) 40 times (40 sps over 40 sps made); make a bl. Ch 4, turn. 5th row: Make 1 bl, * 2 sps, (3 tr in next sp, tr in next tr) twice (2 bls over 2 sps made). Repeat from * across, ending with 2 sps, 1 bl. Ch 4, turn. 6th row: Make 1 bl, * 2 sps, 2 bls. Repeat from * across, ending with 2 sps, 1 bl. Ch 4, turn. 7th and 8th rows: 1 bl, 40 sps, 1 bl. Ch 4, turn. 9th and 10th rows: 1 bl, 2 sps, 2 bls, 32 sps, 2 bls, 2 sps, 1 bl. Break off.

SECOND END … Work 1st to 4th rows incl of First End. To complete Second End, attach thread in end of starting chain, ch 1, sc in same place where thread was attached, ch 5, p, ch 5, sl st in end tr of Center (thus joining), ch 5, p, ch 5, sc in same sc on Second End, ch 3, p, ch 3, sc in next sc on Second End. Continue thus across, skipping 7 tr on Center between joinings. Break off. Starch lightly, pin out to measurements and press.
