104 yds. Blue.
Steel Crochet Hook No. 7.

FRONT SECTION. With Blue, ch 2, and work 6 s c in 1st ch, join in first s c.
2nd and 3rd Rows—2 s c in each s c, drop Blue.
4th Row—With White, ch 3, pick up and pull loop through the 2nd ch, pick up 1st ch and pull loop through, pick up each of the next 2 s c leaving all loops on needle, thread over and pull through all loops on needle at one time, ch 1, (the ch 1 is termed the eye of st) * pick up and pull loop through the eye of st just made, side loop of st just made and each of the next 2 s c leaving all loops on needle, thread over and pull through all loops at one time, ch 1, (star st) repeat from * all around, (12 star sts) drop White.
5th Row—Pick up Blue and work 2 s c in each loop and 2 s c in each eye of each star st, (48 s c) drop Blue.
6th Row—With White, same as 4th row having 24 star sts in row.
7th Row—With Blue, work 2 s c in each loop of each star st and 1 s c in each eye of each star st.
8th Row—With White, work same as 6th row having 36 star sts in row.
Repeat the last 2 rows having 54 sts in last row.
11th Row—With Blue, work 1 s c in each loop and 1 s c in each eye of each star st.
The thread is carried underneath in the following rows. When changing Color complete the last half of st with the next Color.
12th Row—With White, ch 3 and work 1 d c in each of the next 5 s c, with Blue, popcorn st in next s c, (popcorn st: 5 d c in same space, drop loop off hook, insert in 1st d c and pull loop through, ch 1 to tighten st) * with White, 1 d c in each of the next 6 s c, with Blue, popcorn st in next s c, repeat from * all around, join.
13th Row—With White, 1 d c in each d c and with Blue, 1 popcorn st in each popcorn st.
14th and 15th Rows—Same as last row, but working 2 d c in first and last st of each White section in each row, drop Blue.
16th Row—With White, 1 d c in each d c and 1 s d c in each popcorn st. (s d c: thread over, insert in st and work off all loops at one time).
17th Row—1 d c in each d c and 1 s c in each s d c, break thread.
BACK SECTION. Work first 11 rows same as front section, but reversing the Colors, break White.
12th Row—With Blue, ch 3, 1 d c in each of the next 5 s c, * ch 1, skip 1 s c, 1 d c in each of the next 5 s c, repeat from * all around, ch 1, join in 3rd st of ch.
13th Row—Ch 3, 1 d c in each of the next 4 d c, * ch 1, 1 d c in each of the next 5 d c, repeat from * all around, ch 1, join.
14th and 15th Rows—Same as last row, but working 2 d c in first and last st of each d c section in each row.
16th Row—1 d c in each d c and 1 s d c in each 1 ch loop.
17th Row—1 d c in each d c and 1 s c in each s d c, break thread.
With Blue, crochet the 2 sections together starting in the s c, ch 3, 3 d c in same space, skip 1 st, 1 s c in each of the next 7 sts, skip 1 st, 4 d c in next s c, skip 1 st, 1 s c in each of the next 7 sts, skip 1 st, 2 d c in next s c, ch 15, turn, sl st in same space for loop, ch 1 turn and work 25 s c over ch, 2 d c in same space as last d c, * skip 1 st, 1 s c in each of the next 7 sts, skip 1 st, 4 d c in next s c, repeat from * all around.
