89 yds. White.
"STAR" PEARL COTTON, SIZE 5
49 yds. Green, and 20 yds. Yellow.
Steel Crochet Hook No. 7.

With Yellow, ch 6, join to form a ring, ch 4 and work 23 tr c into ring, join in 4th st of ch, break thread.
2nd Row—Attach White under ch on wrong side of work and work 1 s c over each st taking up entire st, join.
Next Row—Start Petals. Ch 4, 3 tr c in same st, 2 tr c in each of the next 2 sts, 4 tr c in next st, ch 4, turn.
Next Row—4 tr c in tr c, 1 tr c in each of the remaining tr c, 4 tr c in 4th st of ch, ch 4, turn.
Next Row—Start decreasing, * thread over twice, insert in next st, pull through and work off 2 loops twice, repeat from * twice, thread over and work off remaining loops at one time, 1 tr c in each of the next 11 sts, * thread over twice, insert in next st, pull through and work off 2 loops twice, repeat from * 3 times, thread over and work off remaining loops at one time, ch 4, turn.
Next Row—* Thread over twice, insert in next st, pull through and work off 2 loops twice, repeat from * twice, thread over and work off remaining loops at one time, 1 tr c in each of the next 7 sts, decrease next 4 sts in same manner, ch 4, turn.
Next Row—Decrease in same manner as beginning of last row, 1 tr c in each of the next 3 sts, decrease next 4 sts, ch 4, turn.
Next Row—* Thread over twice, insert in next st, pull through and work off 2 loops twice, repeat from * 5 times, thread over and work off remaining loops at one time, ch 1, break thread.
Attach White in next s c and continue in same manner until there are 6 petals.
With Yellow, starting in base of petal, work a row of s c all around petals, join, break thread. Tack petals together at 2nd row overlapping petals slightly.
2nd Row of Petals—Attach White in a Yellow s c below tacking of petals, ch 4 and work 7 tr c in same space, ch 4, turn.
Next Row—3 tr c in 1st tr c, 2 tr c in next tr c, 1 tr c in each of the next 4 tr c, 2 tr c in next tr c, 4 tr c in 4th st of ch, ch 4, turn.
Next 4 Rows—Decrease in same manner as 1st petal, break thread.
With Yellow, work a row of s c all around petal, break thread and continue in same manner until there are 6 petals, and tack them together as illustrated.
BACK. With White, ch 6, join to form a ring, ch 4, 4 tr c in ring, * ch 1, 5 tr c in ring, repeat from * twice, ch 1, join in 4th st of ch.
2nd Row—Ch 4, work 1 tr c in each tr c working 3 tr c, ch 2, 3 tr c in each corner, join in 4th st of ch.
Repeat 2nd row 3 times, break thread. Attach Green and repeat 2nd row 3 times.
Next Row—* Ch 4, 2 tr c in same space, skip 3 sts, s c in next st, repeat from * all around, working a loop in one corner, (loop: ch 20, s c in same space, work 30 s c over loop, sl st in same space) break thread.
Sew flower in position on back section as illustrated.
