Suggested pattern for Bedspreads
If you prefer, make your bedspread in this pattern, following Bedspread S-569 pattern for approximate amounts of thread, and working Border as for Bedspread S-569 pattern.
Make a chain slightly longer than length desired. 1st row: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in next 10 ch, * skip 1 ch, in next ch make dc, ch 3 and dc (V st made); (skip 3 ch, V st in next ch) twice; skip 1 ch, dc in next 12 ch. Repeat from * across until row measures length desired, ending to correspond with beginning. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 3, turn. 2nd and 3rd rows: Skip first dc, dc in next 11 dc, * make a V st over next 3 V sts, dc in next 12 dc. Repeat from * across, ending with dc in top of turning chain. Ch 3, turn. 4th row: Skip first 2 dc, * make a V st in next dc, (skip 3 dc, V st in next dc) twice; skip next dc, dc in next dc, (2 dc in next sp, dc in next 2 dc) twice; 2 dc in next sp, dc in next dc, skip next dc. Repeat from * across, ending with 3 V sts, dc in top of turning chain. Ch 3, turn. 5th and 6th rows: * Make a V st over next 3 V sts, dc in next 12 dc. Repeat from * across, ending with dc in top of turning chain. Ch 3, turn. 7th row: * (2 dc in next sp, dc in next 2 dc) twice; 2 dc in next sp, dc in next dc, skip 1 dc, V st in next dc, (skip 3 dc, V st in next dc) twice; skip 2 dc, dc in next dc. Repeat from * across, ending with dc in last dc. Ch 3, turn. Repeat 2nd to 7th rows incl until piece measures 120 inches, ending with 6th row. Break off.
