Pierrot Collar Pattern #2103

Materials: Clark's O.N.T. or J. & P. Coats Mercerized Crochet, 2 balls each of 55A Dk. Navy, size 30; and White, Size 50. Milward's steel crochet hook No. 9 or 10.

With Navy, make a chain slightly larger than neck measurement (about 19 inches). 1st row: 1 s c in each ch st across. Ch 3, turn. 2nd row: 1 d c in each s c, increasing in every 15th s c (to increase make 2 d c in 1 st). Ch 1, turn. 3rd row: 1 s c in each d c. Ch 3, turn. 4th to 25th rows incl: Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows alternately. If necessary, make less increases or more increases than specified in directions in order to have worked lie perfectly flat. Break off.

Ruffling. Fold collar along 10th s c row, and attach White to first s c of that row. 1st row: * Ch 7, s c in next s c of same s c row, repeat from * across row, ch 8, turn. 2nd, 3rd and 4th rows: S c in each ch-7 loop with ch 7 between s c's, ch 8, turn. At end of 4th row, break off.

Repeat ruffling on the 12th s c row. Fasten collar at back with a snap fastener.
