V Neck Double Frill Pattern #259

Materials:
Clark's O.N.T. Mercerized Crochet, Size 50, White.
Milward's steel crochet hook No. 8 or 9.

Tie: Make a ch 47 inches long, turn. 1st row: 1 d c in 8th ch from hook, * ch 2, skip 2 ch sts of foundation ch, 1 d c in next (1 sp formed), repeat from * ending with 1 d c in last st of ch. Ch 7, turn. 2nd row: 1 d c in 1st d c (1 sp increased at beginning of this row), * ch 2, sk ch-2, 1 d c in next d c, and repeat from * to end of row. Then, to increase 1 sp at end of row, ch 2, and make 1 d tr in same st as last d c was made. Ch 7, turn. 3rd row: Same as 2nd row. 4th row: Fold work in half and mark the center. Work the same as for 2nd row to within 22 sps from center. Then ch 2, 1 d c in same place as 1st d c was made (1 sp increased), * make 4 sps, increase 1 sp as before, and repeat from * 11 more times. Complete row the same as 2nd row. 5th to 8th rows incl: Same as 2nd row. Fasten last st and break thread.

Under Frill: Attach thread to 8th row, 75th sp from center. 1st row: Ch 7, s c in same sp, * ch 7, s c in next sp, repeat from * 5 more times (7 loops made), then ch 7, s c in same sp as last s c was made, and continue making 7 loops for every 6 sps until you have 175 loops worked over 150 sps. Ch 7, turn. 2nd to 15th rows incl: S c in 1st loop, * ch 7, s c in next loop, and repeat from * to end of row. After the 15th row is completed fasten the last st and break thread.

Over Frill: Attach thread at same place where the under frill was started, and work 12 rows exactly the same as for under frill. Fasten and break thread.

Heading: Finish all of inner edge of tie, and outer edges till where frills start with a row of s c.
