Two-color edging—suggest a shaded color and a solid color. With shaded color make hairpin lace for desired length. Fasten off. 1st row: Attach solid color to 1st loop and, being careful to keep twist of loops throughout, make 1 s c in each loop across. Ch 4 (to count as d c and ch-1), turn. 2nd row: * Skip next s c, d c in next s c, ch 1. Repeat from * across, ending with d c. Ch 1, turn. 3rd row: * S c in next d c, s c under ch-1. Repeat from * across. Fasten off. Attach same thread at opposite side of loops and work s c as for 1st row. Fasten off. Attach same thread to 1st s c made on previous row, s c in s c, * ch 5, skip 1 s c; in next s c make tr, ch 2 and tr; ch 5, skip 1 s c, s c in each of next 5 s c. Repeat from * across, ending with tr, ch 5, skip 1 s c, s c in next s c. Ch 6, turn. Next row: S c in 1st ch-5 sp, * ch 5, s c in ch-2 sp, ch 5, s c in next ch-5 sp, ch 5, skip 1st s c of 5-s c group, s c in each of next 3 s c, ch 5, s c in next ch-5 sp.
