1st row: * Ch 5, 2 d c in 4th ch from hook, holding back the last loop of each d c on hook; thread over and draw through all loops on hook, ch 1 to fasten (a cluster made). Repeat from * 3 more times; sl st in 1st ch made (a 4-cluster loop). Make another 4-cluster loop, s c in base of 1st cluster-loop. ** Make 2 more clusters; then make 2 cluster-loops as before. Repeat from ** for desired length, ending with 2 cluster-loops. Fasten off. 2nd row: Attach thread between 2nd and 3rd clusters of 1st cluster-loop and work along long side as follows: * ch 5, tr tr between 2 clusters which separate the cluster-loops, ch 5, s c between 2nd and 3rd clusters of next loop. Repeat from * across. Ch 3, turn. 3rd row: S c in ch-5 sp, * ch 5, s c in same sp, ch 5, s c in next sp. Repeat from * across. Fasten off. Attach thread between 2nd and 3rd clusters of 1st cluster-loop on opposite side and work to correspond.
