MATERIALS:
Clark's O.N.T. or J. & P. Coats Pearl Cotton, size 5, 1 ball of color A and 1 ball of color B.
Milward's steel crochet hook No. 7.
1 bone ring.

Starting at bottom, with color A ch 52 to measure about 6½ inches. 1st row: S c in 2nd ch from hook, * half d c in next ch, d c in next, tr in next, d tr in next, tr tr in next, d tr in next, tr in next, d c in next, half d c in next, s c in next. Repeat from *. Drop color A, attach color B to 1st s c made. 2nd row: *** Ch 5 (to count as tr tr), * d tr in half d. c, tr in d c, d c in tr, half d c in d tr, s c in tr tr, half d c in d tr, d c in tr, tr in d c, d tr in half d c, tr tr in s c. Repeat from * across. Drop color B, pick up color A, turn. 3rd row: S c in tr tr, ** half d c in d tr, d c in tr, tr in d c, d tr in half d c, tr tr in s c, d tr in half d c, tr in d c, d c in tr, half d c in d tr, s c in tr tr. Repeat from ** across. Drop A, pick up B. Repeat from *** of 2nd row until piece is perfectly square. Fasten off. Make another piece like this.
   Slip pad (see patternbook page) between crocheted pieces, and join by sewing over-and-over stitches along outside edges. Sew bone ring to corner.
