MATERIALS:
J. & P. Coats Knit-Cro-Sheen, 1 ball of color A and 2 balls of color B.
Milward's steel crochet hook No. 9.
3 screw hooks.
5 bone rings.

This amount is sufficient for entire set.

DESIGN No. 9066-A (center)

Make 2 pieces. Starting at bottom, with color A ch 62. 1st row: D c in 4th ch from hook, d c in next 9 ch; thread over, insert hook in next ch and pull loop through, thread over and draw through 2 loops. Drop color A, attach color B and draw through remaining 2 loops. Holding color A along top of row and work­ing over it in order to conceal it, make d c in next 11 ch; thread over, insert hook in next ch and pull loop through, thread over and draw through 2 loops; drop color B, pick up color A and draw through remaining 2 loops. Holding unused color along top of row and working over it, make 12 color A d c, 12 B d c and 12 A d c, changing to color B at end of last d c (60 d c in row). With B ch 3, turn. 2nd row: 2 color B d c, * 12 A d c, 12 B d c. Repeat from * once more, 9 A d c. Ch 3, turn. Work in this manner, continuing diagonal stripes 3 d c to the right of preceding row each time (see illustration) until 21 rows are made. Fasten off.

DESIGN No. 9066-B (sides)

Make 4 pieces. Work as for No. 9066-A to 4th row incl. Keeping the 2 incompleted diagonal stripes in color A, work remainder with color B, letting color A hang at end of second diagonal stripe on one row, and con­cealing it under next 3 d c on following row, until 21 rows are made. Fasten off.
   Tack pad (see patternbook page) between 2 identical pieces, and s c closely around through both thicknesses. Sew a bone ring at one corner of each pot holder.

RACK No. 9066-C

Starting at bottom, with color A ch 102. 1st row: D c in 4th ch from hook, d c in next 58 ch; let color A hang, attach color B and make d c in each ch across (40 color B d c). Now replace 3 d c of color A with 3 d c of color B, on each row, until 8 rows are made. Work 8 more rows in color B. Fasten off. Fold this piece in half lengthwise, and sew along 2 sides. Cut 2 pieces of wood or cardboard, each 2 x 10 inches; insert in opening and sew up. Sew 2 rings at top of rack. Screw 3 hooks slightly below center, and hang pot holders on hooks.
