J. & P. COATS METALLIC "KNIT-CRO-SHEEN," Art. A.64-M: 1 ball of No. M.122 Watermelon.
COATS & CLARK'S O.N.T. COTTON RUG YARN, Art. C.204: 1 skein of No. 12 Black.
Milwards Steel Crochet Hook No. 7.
1 bone ring.

GAUGE: 8 sts make 1 inch; 4 rows make 1½ inches.

POT HOLDER (Make 2) … With Robinette, make a chain to measure 10½ inches. 1st row: Tr in 5th ch from hook, tr in each ch across until 59 tr have been made, counting starting ch-4 as 1 tr. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 3, turn. 2nd row: Skip first tr, dc in each tr across. Ch 4, turn. 3rd row: Skip first dc, tr in each dc across. Ch 3, turn. Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows alternately until 17 rows in all have been made. Break off.
   Use 1 yard length of thread for weaving, renewing lengths at beginning of rows when required.
   1st weaving row: With 1 strand of Black, weave into first tr-row as follows: weave under first st, (over next st, under next st) 29 times. Turn. 2nd weaving row: Working into the same tr-row, weave under first 2 sts, (over next st, under next st) 28 times, under last st. 3rd and 4th weaving rows: With 4 strands of Watermelon, weaving into first dc row, work as for first and 2nd weaving rows. 5th and 6th weaving rows: Repeat first and 2nd weaving rows. 7th weaving row: With 4 strands of Watermelon, weaving into next dc-row, work as for first weaving row. Repeat first to 7th weaving rows incl until pot holder has been completed. With wrong sides together, working through both thicknesses and being careful to have all loose ends between thicknesses, attach Robinette and sc closely around all edges, making 3 sc in each corner. Break off. With Robinette, sc closely around bone ring and sew securely in place.
