Edging Pattern #8311
Make a chain slightly longer than length desired. 1st row: Sc in 10th ch from hook, * ch 5, skip 3 ch, d c in next ch, ch 1, skip 1 ch, d c in next ch (1 sp made). Make 6 more sps, then ch 5, skip 3 ch, s c in next ch. Repeat from * across, ending row with ch 5, skip 3 ch, d c in next ch, turn. 2nd row: Sl st to center of 1st loop, * ch 5, s c in next loop, ch 5, skip next d c and ch-1, d c in next d c, make 5 sps, ch 5, skip next ch-1 and d c, s c in next loop. Repeat from * across, ending row with ch 5, s c in last loop. Ch 5, turn. 3rd row: In ch-5 loop make 7 tr with ch-1 between each tr, then ch 1, s c in next loop (1 fan made); ch 5, skip next d c and ch-1, d c in next d c, 3 sps, ch 5, skip next ch-1 and d c, s c in next loop, ch 1; in ch-5 loop make 7 tr with ch-1 between each tr and continue thus across, ending row with ch 1, s c in last loop. Ch 6 (to count as tr and ch-2), turn. 4th row: ** Tr in 1st ch-1 sp, * ch 2, tr in next sp. Repeat from * 6 more times, ch 2, s c in next loop, ch 5, skip next d c and ch-1, d c in next d c, ch 1, d c in next d c, ch 5, s c in next loop, ch 2. Repeat from ** across, ending row with tr in each ch-1 sp, with ch-2 between each tr; ch 2, tr in turning ch. Ch 6, turn. 5th row: Tr in 1st sp of fan, * ch 4, s c in 3rd ch from hook (1 p made), ch 1, tr in next sp. Repeat from * 7 more times, ch 2, s c in next loop, ch 3, s c in next sp, ch 3, s c in next loop, ch 2, and continue thus across. Fasten and break off.
