With light color, work s c closely over ring. Join with sl st to 1st s c made. 1st rnd: Ch. 3 (to count as 1 d c), d c in front loop of 6 s c, ch 3, d c in front loop of next 6 s c. Turn, and working in remaining loop of same s c's make d c in 6 s c, ch 3, d c in 5 s c. Join with sl st to top st of 1st ch-3 made. 2nd rnd: Ch 3, (d c in each d c across to ch-3 sp, in ch-3 sp make 2 d c, ch 3, 2 d c) twice; d c in remaining d c. Join. Repeat last row 15 more times. Fasten off. Attach dark color and repeat 2nd rnd. Fasten off. Attach light color and re­peat 2nd rnd. Fasten off. Attach dark color and repeat 2nd rnd. Join, ch 1. Then holding both edges together, work s c through both thicknesses, picking up only the center loops of each st and making 4 s c over ch's. Fasten off. Attach light color and work edging as follows; 1st row: * Ch 5, skip 3 s c, s c in next s c. Repeat from * across. Ch 1, turn. 2nd row: * 3 s c in next loop, ch 4, 4 s c in same loop. Fasten off. Make another pot holder same as this, reversing colors.
