MATERIALS: J. & P. Coats or Clark's O.N.T. Pearl Cotton, Size 5, 1 ball each of Cream and Blue ... Steel Crochet Hook No. 6 or 7 ... A guest towel.

With Cream make a chain slightly longer than edge of towel. 1st row: Dc in 7th ch from hook, * skip 3 ch, in next ch make dc, ch 3 and dc. Re­peat from * across, having an odd number of ch-3 sps. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 3, turn. 2nd row: * 7 dc in next ch-3 sp, sc in next ch-3 sp. Repeat from * across, ending with 7 dc in last sp. Break off. 3rd row: Attach Blue to top st of turning chain at beginning of last row, * sc in back loop of next 7 dc, sc in next sp on 1st row (working over the sc of 2nd row). Repeat from * across. Break off. 4th row: Attach Cream at beginning of last row, ** skip next sc, * sc in back loop of next sc, ch 3, sc in 3rd ch from hook (p made). Repeat from * until 4 p's are made, sc in back loop of next sc, skip next sc, sc in next sc. Repeat from ** across. Break off. Sew edging to towel.
