Base … Using 2 strands of Blue and working tightly throughout base, ch 2. 1st rnd: 7 s c in 2nd ch from hook. 2nd rnd: 2 s c in each s c around. 3rd rnd: * S c in next s c, 2 s c in next s c (an increase). Repeat from * around. 4th and subsequent rnds: S c in each s c, making necessary increases to keep work flat, until there are 65 s c in rnd and piece measures about 2⅝ inches in diameter. Fasten off. Make one more Blue base, and 2 each of Red and Yellow.
With right side of any base towards you, with single strand of Red work as follows: 1st and 2nd rnds: Ch 3 (to count as d c), d c in each st around (65 sts). Join with sl st to 3rd st of starting ch. (Fit over glass for size; it should fit snugly. Do this often while working.) 3rd rnd: Ch 3, d c in next d c, thread over, insert hook in next d c and draw loop through, thread over and draw through 2 loops. Drop Red, attach Blue and draw through remaining 2 loops. * Holding Red along top of previous row and working over it to conceal it, make d c in next d c, thread over, insert hook in next d c and draw loop through, thread over and draw through 2 loops; drop Blue, pick up Red and draw through remaining 2 loops. Holding Blue along top of row and working over it, make d c in next 2 d c, thread over, insert hook in next d c and draw loop through; thread over and draw through 2 loops. Drop Red, pick up Blue and draw through remaining 2 loops. Repeat from * around; join. Fasten off Red. Attach Yellow and ch 3. 4th rnd: Working over Blue make d c in next d c, completing d c with Blue. * Working over Yellow, make 3 Blue d c, completing 3rd d c with Yellow; working over Blue make 2 d c, completing 2nd d c with Blue. Repeat from * around; join. Fasten off Blue. Ch 3. 5th and 6th rnds: With Yellow work d c in each d c around; join. At end of 6th rnd fasten off Yellow, attach Blue, ch 3. 7th rnd: D c in each d c around. Join. Fasten off Blue, attach Red. Ch 3. These 7 rnds constitute stripe pattern. Repeat pattern once more. Fasten off. Complete other jackets in same way.
