No. 8145: Use one shuttle and a ball of thread. * Make lr of 5 ds, 5 p's sep. by 5 ds, 5 ds, cl. Make sr of 5 ds, p, 5 ds, p, 10 ds, cl. Rw. Make a ch of 5 ds, 4 p's sep. by 5 ds, 5 ds, join to last p of sr. Repeat from * for length desired. Tie securely, break off. This completes one half of insertion. Work other side of insertion as follows: ** Make lr of 5 ds, join to 1st p of lr on left, 5 ds, join to next p, 5 ds, join to p of sr, 5 ds, join to 1st p of next lr, 5 ds, join to next p of same lr, 5 ds, cl. Make sr of 5 ds, join to p of next lr, 5 ds, p, 10 ds, cl. Rw, make ch of 5 ds, 4 p's sep. by 5 ds, 5 ds, join to last p of sr just made. Repeat from ** across.

 

No. 8132: Use one shuttle, a ball of thread and Milward's steel crochet hook.

With shuttle thread, sr of 5 ds, p, 4 ds, p, 4 ds, p, 5 ds, cl. * Lr of 5 ds, join to last p of sr, 5 ds, p, 1 ds, p, 1 ds, p, 5 ds, p, 5 ds, cl. Sr of 5 ds, join to p of lr, 4 ds, p, 4 ds, p, 5 ds, cl. Attach ball thread, rw, 11 ds, p, 11 ds, rw. With shuttle thread, sr of 5 ds, p, 4 ds, join to center p of sr, 4 ds, p, 5 ds, cl. Repeat from * for length desired. Break off. Attach thread to p on ch, and with crochet hook * ch 10, s c in p of next ch. Repeat from * across. Break off.
