Tatted Doily Pattern #7082

Materials: Clark's O.N.T. or J. & P. Coats Mercerized Crochet, size 30, White or Ecru, 1 ball.
A shuttle.
¼ yd. linen.

When completed, doily measures about 11 inches in diameter.

Cut a circle of linen 8 inches in diameter and make a narrow hem all around edge. Starting at one of the r's sewed to linen center, make r of 6 ds, p, 5 ds, p, 6 ds, cl. Rw and make similar r, close to 1st r. Rw, ch of 8 ds, p, 8 ds. Rw; make r (all r's and all ch's are alike), join to last p of adjacent r. Rw and make similar r close to this r. Rw and make a ch. Rw, make r, joining 1st p to last p of last r. Rw, make a ch. * Make 4 more r's, sep. by ch's, joining each to preceding r, also joining the 4th r by its last p to free p of adjacent r (thus forming a circle of 6 r's). Rw, make similar r close to last r. Rw, ch, joined by p to p of adjacent ch. Rw, r, joining last p to free p of r just made. Rw, a similar r close to last r, joining by its 1st p to free p of 1st r made. Ch as before (inner edge). R, joining 1st p to last p of adjacent r. Rw, similar r close to r just made. Rw and make a ch. Rw, r, joining to 2 adjacent r's. Rw, similar r close to last r. Ch, joining to p of opposite ch. Rw, r, joining to preceding r. Repeat from * for length desired, joining last scallop to 1st. Sew inner edge to linen.
