Materials: Clark's O.N.T. (4 balls) or J. & P. Coats (3 balls) Mercerized Crochet, size 50, White or Ecru. This amount is sufficient for the three doilies.

The place doily measures about 9¾ inches in diameter, the bread and butter plate doily measures about 8¾ inches in diameter, and the goblet doily measures about 6 inches in diameter.

Place Doily. Starting at center make r of 1 ds, 5 p's sep. by 3 ds, 2 ds, cl. Tie securely and cut off. 1st rnd: R of 8 ds, join to p of center r, 8 ds, cl. Rw. Attach ball thread. * Make ch of 4 ds, p, 5 ds, p, 4 ds. Rw, r of 8 ds, join to next p of center r, 8 ds, cl, rw. Repeat from * around. Join last ch to 1st r. Tie securely and cut off. 2nd rnd: R of 8 ds, join to p of ch of previous rnd, 8 ds, cl, rw. Attach ball thread and * ch of 4 ds, p, 5 ds, p, 4 ds. Rw. R of 8 ds, join to next p of ch of previous rnd, 8 ds, cl. Rw. Make ch same as before. Repeat from * around. Join. Tie securely and cut off. 3rd rnd: R of 8 ds, join to p of ch of previous rnd, 8 ds, cl. Rw. * Ch of 7 ds, p, 7 ds, rw. R of 8 ds, join to next p of ch, 8 ds, cl. Rw. Repeat from * around. Join. Bread and Buffer Plate Doily. 1st to 3rd rnds incl.: Work exactly as for first 3 rnds of place doily. 4th rnd: * R of 8 ds, join to p of ch of previous rnd, 8 ds, cl. Rw. Ch of 5 ds, p, 6 ds, p, 5 ds. Rw. R of 8 ds, join to next p of ch, 8 ds, cl. Rw. Ch of 5 ds, p, 6 ds, p, 5 ds. Rw. R of 8 ds, join to next p, 8 ds, cl. Rw. Ch of 8 ds, p, 8 ds. Rw. R of 8 ds, join to next p, 8 ds, cl. Rw. Ch of 8 ds, p, 8 ds. Rw. Repeat from * around. Tie securely and cut off. 5th rnd: * R of 8 ds, join to p of ch of previous rnd, 8 ds, cl. Rw.
