Completed tablecloth measures about 72 x 90 inches.
MOTIF … 1st rnd: Starting at center, * ch 7, s c in 5th ch from hook (p). Repeat from * 7 more times. Join, having p's inside. 2nd rnd: Ch 1 (3 s c between next 2 p's, s c at base of next p) 7 times, 3 s c between next 2 p's, sl st in 1st ch-1. 3rd rnd: * Ch 20, d c in 9th ch from hook (ch 2, skip 2 ch, d c in next ch) 3 times, ch 2, s c where ch-20 started. Picking up only back loop, make s c in 4 s c. Repeat from * 7 more times (8 bars). Fasten off. 4th rnd: Attach thread and make 4 s c in sp at top of bar, * ch 6, skip 1 sp of same bar, d tr in next sp, d tr in corresponding sp of next bar, ch 6, 4 s c in top sp of same bar. Repeat from * around, ending with 2 d tr, ch 6, sl st in 1st s c. 5th rnd: Ch 1; picking up only back loop, make s c in 3 s c, * 7 s c in loop, s c between 2 d tr, 7 s c in next loop, s c in 4 s c. Make another motif to 6th rnd incl. 7th rnd: Ch 1; (in ch-4 sp make half d c, 3 d c and half d c; s c in next st) twice. * In next ch-4 sp make half d c and 2 d c; sl st in corresponding d c of fan on first motif; d c and half d c back in same ch-4 on second motif, s c in next st. Repeat from * once more, and continue as before, joining the 2nd and 3rd scallops of next fan to 2nd and 3rd scallops on first motif, and complete as for first motif.
Make 16 x 20 motifs, joining 4 scallops of each motif to 4 scallops of adjacent motifs, leaving 4 scallops free on each motif, between joinings.
FILL-IN LACE … Ch 1 loosely (this is center), * ch 14, 2-tr cluster in 7th ch from hook—to make cluster, make 2 tr, holding back the last loop of each tr on hook; thread over and draw through all loops on hook, ch 1 to fasten—ch 2, sl st in center d c of 1st free scallop to left of one joining, ch 2, sl st back in tip of cluster, ch 6, sl st at base of cluster, ch 9, cluster in 7th ch from hook, ch 2, sl st in center d c of 1st free scallop to right of joining, ch 2, sl st back in tip of cluster, ch 6, sl st in base of same cluster, ch 7, sl st in center.
