Materials Required—AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "DE LUXE" MERCERIZED CROCHET AND KNITTING COTTON
1-400 Yd. Ball White will make a set of 4 Doilies.
Steel Crochet Hook No. 7.

Ch 53, work 1 d c in 4th st from hook, 1 d c in each remaining ch.
2nd Row. Ch 9, d c in opposite corner, * ch 9, skip 4 d c, s c in next d c, repeat from * 9 times, ch 9, d c in corner, * ch 9, skip 4 d c, s c in next d c, repeat from * 8 times, ch 9, join.
3rd Row. Sl st into 1st 2 sts, ch 5, (the ch 5 counts as 1 tr c) tr c in loop, ch 4, 2 tr c in same loop, (shell) ch 5, shell in same loop, * ch 9, s c in next loop, repeat from * 9 times, ch 9 then repeat from beginning, join.
4th Row. Always sl st to center of shell, ** shell in shell, ch 9, s c in next loop, ch 9, shell in shell, * ch 9, s c in next loop, repeat from * 10 times, ch 9, repeat from **, join.
5th Row. Shell in shell, * ch 9, s c in next loop, repeat from *, ch 9, shell in shell, * ch 9, s c in next loop, repeat from * 11 times, ch 9, repeat from beginning, join.
6th Row. Work in same manner as 5th row, always having 1 more 9 ch loop between groups of shells.
8th Row. * Ch 10, s c in next loop, repeat from * 3 times, ch 10, s c in center of shell, * ch 10, s c in next loop, repeat from * 13 times, ch 10, work other half to correspond. Without joining rows, work 2 rows each of 11 and 12 ch loops, then work 1 row of 13 ch loops, break thread.
Finishing. Starch lightly, shape in position (pin if necessary) and iron while still damp.
