COATS & CLARK'S O.N.T. "SPEED-CRO-SHEEN" MERCERIZED COTTON, Art. C.44: 1 ball each of No. 1 White and No. 131 Fudge Brown.

Milwards Steel Crochet Hook No. 2/0 (double zero).

Felt...Bone ring...12 large round sequins and 2 leaf sequins; tiny white beads.

GAUGE: 5 sc make 1 inch; 6 rows make 1 inch.

BASE OF CLOCK . . . Starting at bottom with Fudge Brown ch 45. 1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. 2nd row: Sc in each sc across. Break off. Turn. 3rd row: Skip 3 sc, attach thread to next sc, sc in same place, sc in each sc to within last 3 sc. Ch 1, turn. 4th row: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. Repeat 4th row until piece measures 5 ½ inches. Ch 1, turn. Next row: Work off first 2 sc as 1 sc (1 sc decreased), sc in each sc across to within last 2 sc, dec 1 sc. Ch 1, turn. Repeat last row until 19 sc remain. Next row: (Work off 2 sc as 1 sc) twice (2 sc decreased), sc in each sc to within last 4 sc, dec 2 sc. Break off.

FACE OF CLOCK . . . Starting at center with White, ch 2. 1st rnd: 7 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 2nd rnd: 2 sc in each sc around. 3rd rnd: * 2 sc in next sc (1 sc increased), sc in next sc. Repeat from * around. Sc in each sc, increasing 7 sc evenly on each rnd until piece measures 4 inches in diameter. Sl st in next sc. Break off.

Sew sequins and beads in place. Sew face in place. Line back with felt. With Fudge Brown, sc closely around bone ring. Sew in place.
