COATS & CLARK'S O.N.T. "SPEED-CRO-SHEEN" MERCERIZED COTTON, Art. C.44: 1 ball of No. 61-D Nu-Ecru; and

J. & P. COATS "KNIT-CRO-SHEEN" METALLIC, Art. A.64: 1 ball of No. M.48 Hunter's Green.

Milwards Steel Crochet Hook No. 2/0 (double zero).

Felt for lining...Bone ring.

Starting at center with Nu-Ecru, ch 2. 1st rnd: 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join. 2nd rnd: 2 sc in same place as sl st, * sc in next sc, 3 sc in next sc. Repeat from * around, ending with sc in same place as first 2 sc. 3rd rnd: Picking up back loop only, make 2 sc in same place as sl st, sc in each sc around, making 3 sc in center sc of each 3-sc group and ending with sc in same place as first 2 sc. Join. 4th, 5th and 6th rnds: Working through both loops, make 2 sc in same place as sl st, sc in each sc around, making 3 sc in center sc of each 3-sc group, ending as before. Join. 7th to 18th rnds incl: Repeat 3rd to 6th rnds incl 3 more times. 19th to 22nd rnds incl: Work as before, making 1 sc at each corner instead of 3. Break off at end of 22nd rnd. Attach a double strand of Hunter's Green Metallic to center sc at any corner, 3 sc in same place, sc in each sc around, making 3 sc at each corner. Join and break off.

TRIMMING . . . Attach a double strand of Green to free loop of first sc on 2nd rnd, sc in same place, * ch 3, skip 1 sc, sc in next sc. Repeat from * around. Join and break off. Complete other free loop rnds the same way.

Line with felt. With Green, sc closely around bone ring. Sew in place.
