MATERIALS REQUIRED:
Lily Sugar 'N Cream Yarn Art. 930
or
Lily Cotton Yarn Art. 600
A partial ball or skein each of Red and White
and
A partial skein each of Lily Six Strand Floss in Red, Yellow, Brown and Blue.
Beans. Crochet hook size 1.

Approximately 7" high.

HEAD—In White, ch 2, 7 sc in first st. In both loops, (2 sc in next sc) 7 times. (1 sc in next, 2 sc in next) 7 times. Sc in 84 sc (4 rows). (Sk 1 st, sc in next 6) 7 times (14 sc left). (Sc in next second sc) 5 times. Sc in each of next 18 sc for neck. Fasten off.

HAIR—Using Tan Six Strand, make loops from top of head, 1¼" long down each side of face, and ¾" long across forehead, and a large Blue French Knot for each eye. Outline eyes, make 3 lashes above each eye, and embroider eyebrows with 2 strands of brown. With 6 strands of Red make two small French Knots for nose and embroider mouth.

HAT—In Red, ch 2, 6 sc in first st. In both loops, (2 sc in next) 6 times. (Sc in next, 2 in next) 6 times. (Sc in 2, 2 sc in next) 6 times. Sc in 72 sc (3 rows). In back loops, sl st in next st, (ch 3, sc in next) 24 times. Fasten off. Join White to 1 loop, (ch 2, sc in next loop) 24 times. Fasten off. Sew on head.

DRESS—In Red, ch 12, sl st in first st. (Ch 1, sc in ring) 12 times. ROW 2—* Ch 1, (sc, ch 1, sc) in next sc. Mark this widening for start of rows and one shoulder line. (Ch 1, sc in next sc) 5 times. Repeat from *. ROW 3—* Ch 1, sc in next sc, ch 1, sc in 1-ch, ch 1, sc in next sc, (ch 1, sc in next sc) 5 times. Repeat from *. ROW 4—* Ch 1, sc in next sc, ch 1, (sc, ch 1, sc) in next sc, (ch 1, sc in next sc) 7 times. Repeat from *. ROW 5—(Ch 1, sc in next sc) around. ROW 6—* Ch 1, (sc, ch 1, sc) in next sc (in line with mark in Row 2), (ch 1, sc in next sc) around to other shoulder widening. Repeat from *. Repeat Rows 5 and 6 three times. ROW 13—(Ch 1, sc in next sc) 3 times, ch 3, sc in next second sc, (ch 1, sc in next sc) twice, ch 3, sc in next second sc, (ch 1, sc in next sc) to complete row. ROW 14—Like Row 6. At arm openings, make ch 1, sc in 3-ch, ch 1, sc in next sc. Repeat Row 5 twice, Row 6 once and Row 5 six times. End with ch 1, sl st in next sc on exact shoulder line. * (1 hdc, 2 dc and 1 hdc) in next sc, sc in next sc. Repeat from * around. Fasten off. Stuff head with cotton and insert neck in starting ring and sew securely, tacking hat brim to back of dress. Make 8 White French Knots down center-front from neck.

HAND—In White, ch 5, sk last 2, 3 hdc on ch. Fasten off. Make 2 and sew one in each opening on dress.

FOOT—In White, ch 8, sk last 2, 6 hdc on ch. Fasten off. Make 2 and sew inside bottom of dress at top of shell edge. Sew bottom of skirt together across top of shell edge, leaving a small opening, stuff with beans and close. If your work is quite open make a small bag for beans and fasten inside the skirt.
