An infant's bib that will attract attention as a shower gift. Practical and heavy, the body of the bib is crocheted of Lily Cotton Yarn or Lily Sugar 'N Cream Yarn and will absorb copious amounts of moisture. The features are crocheted of Lily Six Strand Embroidery Floss, appliqued afterwards.

MATERIALS REQUIRED:
Lily Sugar 'N Cream Yarn Art. 930 or Lily Cotton Yarn Art. 600
A ball or skein each of White and Red.
1  skein each of Lily Six Strand Embroidery Floss in Red, Black and Orange.
Crochet hooks size 1 and size 7.

With White, ch 42, sc in second st, (ch 1, sc in next second st) 3 times, 2 hdc, 23 dc, 2 hdc, sc, (ch 1, sc in next second st) 3 times. ROW 2—Ch 3, turn, sc in last sc, (ch 1, sc in next sc) 3 times, 3 hdc, 21 dc, 3 hdc, sc, (ch 1, sc in next sc) 3 times, ch 1, hdc in same end st. ROW 3—Ch 3, turn, sc in hdc, (ch 1, sc in next sc) 4 times, (ch 1, sc in next second st) 14 times, (ch 1, sc in next sc) 3 times, ch 1, (sc, ch 1, hdc) in end 3-ch. ROW 4—Ch 3, turn, sc in hdc, (ch 1, sc in next sc) across, ch 1, (sc, ch 1, hdc) in end 3-ch. ROW 5—Ch 1, turn, sc in last st, (ch 1, sc in next sc) across to end 3-ch. ROW 6—Ch 1, turn, sc in last sc, (ch 1, sc in next sc) across. ROW 7—Ch 3, turn, sc in last sc, (ch 1, sc in next sc) across, ch 1, hdc in same end sc. Repeat Row 5. Repeat Row 6 thirteen times. ROW 22—Ch 1, turn, skip last sc, sc in next sc, (ch 1, sc in next sc) across to second sc from end hdc in end sc. ROW 23—Ch 1, turn, skip hdc, sc in sc, (ch 1, sc in next sc) across. Repeat Row 6; Rows 22 and 23 three times; Row 22 once more. ROW 32—Ch 1, turn, skip hdc, sl st in sc, (ch 1, sc in next sc) across to second sc from end, hdc in end sc. Repeat once. ROW 34—Ch 1, turn, skip hdc, sl st in sc. With one st in each sc and 1-ch space, make 2 sc, 2 hdc, 4 dc, 11 tr, 4 dc, 2 hdc, 2 sc and 1 sl st. Fasten off.

EAR—With White, ch 6, 4 sc on ch, 5 sc in end st, 4 sc on other side. (Ch 1, turn, and in back loops, sc around, with 3 sc in center st) twice. * Ch 1, turn, sc around, with (sc, hdc, dc, hdc and sc) in center st. Repeat from * once. Fasten off. Make a second ear. Sew to head, beginning at ends of Row 34.

EDGE—Join color, (ch 1, sc in next second st) around head.

TAB—With color, ch 20, sc in second st, * (ch 1, sc in next second st) 3 times, ch 1, sc in next st. Repeat from *, (ch 1, sc in next second st) twice. ROW 2—Ch 1, turn, skip last sc, sc in next sc, (ch 1, sc in next sc) across. Repeat 3 times. ROW 6—Ch 1, turn, sc in last sc, (ch 1, sc in next sc) across. Repeat Rows 2, 6 and 2. Fasten off. Join White to starting corner, (ch 1, sc in next second st) around opposite corner of end. Fasten off. Make a second piece, but turn it over before making Edge. Sew tab under top of each Ear.

TIE—In color, with size 7 crochet hook, make 2 chs 10" long. Tack to end of tabs. Crochet features with Six Strand Embroidery Cotton.

EYES—Make 2. With Orange, ch 2, sc in first st. Ch 3, turn, 4 dc in sc. Ch 1, turn, sc in last dc, hdc in next, (2 dc in next) twice, dc in 3-ch. Ch 3, turn, dc in 2, 2 dc in next) twice, 3 dc in end sc. Ch 1, turn, (2 sc, 2 hdc, 3 dc, 2 dc in next, 4 dc) across. Ch 3, turn, 3 dc, 3 tr, (tr, dc and hdc) in next, sc, hdc, (dc and tr) in next, tr, dc, hdc in end st. Fasten off.
Join Black to first 3-ch of last row, ch 30, sl st in end hdc of same row. Fasten off. Sew on head, 2¼" apart, 3¼" from bottom edge, shaping Black ch as in illustration.

NOSE—With Black, ch 17, skip last 4, dc in next 2, (dc in next 2) worked off together into a Cluster, dc in 4, (dc in next 2) made into a Cluster, dc in 3. Ch 3, turn, skip last dc, (dc in next 2) made into a Cluster, (tr in next 2 made into a Cluster) 3 times, (dc in 3) made into a Cluster. Fasten off.

LIPS—With Black, ch 50. 49 sc on ch. Fasten off. Bend sharply in center and sew to center of last row of Nose.

TONGUE—With Red, ch 14, skip last 4, 2 dc in next, dc in 8, 9 dc in end st, 7 dc on other side, (dc in 2) made into a Cluster. Ch 1, turn, sc around, widening on end as necessary. Fasten off. Sew Nose on center of Head, 2⅝" from bottom edge, with Tongue between lips.

WHISKERS—Top—With Black, ch 35. Fasten off. Center Whiskers—ch 40. Lower Whiskers—ch 25. Sew on one side, ¾" from Nose. Make 5 French Knots between whiskers and nose. Repeat on other side.

EYE WHISKERS—Make 3—12, 15 and 10 chs. Sew 3 above each eye.

EAR WHISKERS—Make 3—15, 20 and 10 chs. Sew 3 in center of each ear.

Above center of each eye, make 2 small sts in White in an inverted "V".
