The easiest afghan you have ever made … crocheted in basic afghan stitch using variegated yarn that forms its own design as it goes. Easy to crochet in a variegated yarn.

Afghan measures 49 x 65 inches … Motifs measure 8 inches square.

COATS & CLARK'S RED HEART KNITTING WORSTED, 4 Ply, Art. E. 234 (4 oz. "Tangle-Proof" Pull-Out Skeins): 10 skeins of No. 971 Palette and 3 skeins of No. 12 Black.
Afghan Hook No. 8.

GAUGE: 4 sts = 1 inch; 8 rows = 3 inches.

MOTIF (Make 48) … With Palette ch 28. Work in afghan st until piece is absolutely square (there should be 20 rows). Break off Palette, attach Black and sc around outer edge. Join with sl st to first sc. Break off.
Sew 6 x 8 Motifs neatly together.
BORDER … 1st and 2nd rnds (right side): With Black, sc in each sc around, making 3 sc in each corner. Join. Turn at end of 2nd rnd. 3rd rnd (wrong side): Sl st in each sc around. Join and break off. Block to measurements.
