CLARK'S O.N.T. COTTON RUG YARN, 1 ball of any color will make 3 pot holders.
J. & P. COATS or CLARK'S O.N.T. SIX STRAND EMBROIDERY FLOSS, 1 skein each of Green and Black.
Crochet Hook, size G.
A bone ring.
Starting at center with Rug Yarn, ch 2. 1st rnd: 7 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with sl st in 1st sc made. 2nd and all even rnds: Sl st in each st around. 3rd rnd: 2 sc in back loop of each sc of 1st rnd. Join. 5th rnd: * Sc in back loop of next sc of 3rd rnd, 2 sc in back loop of next sc of 3rd rnd. Repeat from * around. Join. 7th rnd: * Sc in back loop of next 2 sc, 2 sc in back loop of next sc. Repeat from * around. Join. Continue thus increasing 7 sts evenly on each sc rnd until piece measures 6 ½ inches in diameter, ending with a sl st rnd. Now work ears as follows: Working in both loops of each sc, make * sc in next sc, h dc in next sc; in next sc make dc and tr; in next st make tr and dc; h dc in next sc, sc in next sc, sl st in 9 sc. Repeat from * once more; then continue sl st to end of rnd. Fasten off.
Using wrong side of crochet for face, embroider cat's features, having green eyes, and black nose, mouth and whiskers. Sew ring between the ears.
