A bowl approximately 5½ inches in diameter and 2½ inches in height is required for Bowl Plant Holder.
NOTE: If making both bowl planters - two bowls will be required; also an extra skein of Double Quick or Bedspread Cotton required.

NOTE: If making both bowl holders – the bowl holders are the same – one hanging chain is shorter than the other.
MAKE 2 IF BOTH HOLDERS ARE DESIRED –
1ST ROUND: Starting at bottom of holder, with a single strand of Double Quick or a double strand of Bedspread Cotton ch 3, join with a sl st to form a ring, ch 1, work 8 sc into ring, join with a sl st in first sc.
2ND ROUND: Do not turn in this or following rounds, ch 1, 2 sc in same st as last sl st, 2 sc in each remaining sc around, join with a sl st in first sc.
There are 16 sc in last round.
3RD ROUND: Ch 1, 1 sc in same st as last sl st, * 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in next sc; repeat from * around, end with 2 sc in last sc, join with a sl st in first sc.
There are 24 sc in last round.
4TH ROUND: Ch 1, 1 sc in same st as last sl st, 1 sc in each remaining sc around, join with a sl st in first sc.

HANGING CORDS – 18TH ROUND: For shorter holder ch 60; for longer holder ch 70 – for hanging cords – work a sl st in 2nd st from hook and in each remaining st of ch, work a sl st in each of next 16 sc of last round of holder – for shorter holder ch 60; for longer holder ch 70 – for 2nd hanging cord, work a sl st in 2nd st from hook and in each remaining st of ch; break off.
FINISHING: Using a darning needle and matching color thread, crossing hanging cords as Illustrated, sew free end of each cord to opposite side edge of holder. Place on a small wooden rod as Illustrated.
