A striking design that is simple to make • the original in Henna, Tearose and Terra Cotta is beautiful • will be equally charming in your room color scheme in shades of Green, Blue, Rose or Yellow, or in mixed colors in Enterprise Yarn.

MATERIAL: 1 Ball Ivory (color A)
5 Balls Henna (color B)
3 Balls Tearose (color C)
2 Balls Terra Cotta (color D)

SIZE: Approximately 34-35" diameter, including fringe.

With Color A, ch 4, making first st ¼" long, 17 dc in long st and join with sl st.

ROW 2: Ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in each dc and join.

ROW 3: Ch 3, dc in same st, (dc in next dc, 2 dc in next) re­peat around and join.

ROW 4: Ch 3, dc in same st, (dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc) repeat around and join.

ROW 5: Ch 1, (hdc in next dc, dc in next, 3 dc in next, dc in next, hdc in next, sc in next) 12 times.

ROW 6: Ch 1, * sc in next hdc, hdc in next dc, 2 dc in next, 3 dc in next, 2 dc in next, hdc in next, sc in next, skip sc in angle and repeat from * around. Join to first sc. Fasten off. Work all following rows in back loops only.

ROW 7: Turn and join Color B with sc to first hdc on 1 shell, sc in next 3 sts, * (2 sc, ch 2 and 2 sc) in next dc, sc in next 4 sts, skip 2 sc in angle, sc in next 4 sts. Repeat from * around. Join to first sc.

ROW 8: Ch 1, turn, skip sl st and last sc, sc in each sc to ch at tip of point, * (sc, ch 3 and sc) in ch, sc in each sc to tip of next point, skipping 2 sc in angle between points. Repeat from * around. Join to first sc, — completing 1 rib. ** Fasten off.

ROW 9: Turn and join Color C with 1 sc to second sc on 1 point, sc in each sc to point, * (2 sc, ch 2 and 2 sc) in ch, sc in each sc to tip of next point, skipping 2 sc in angle. Repeat from * around. Sl st in first sc.

ROW 10: Repeat Row 8 to **.

ROW 11: Ch 1, turn, skip sl st and last sc, sc in each sc around, skipping 2 sc in angles, with (2 sc, ch 2 and 2 sc) in ch at tip of each point. Sl st in first sc.

Repeat Row 10 once, Row 11 four times, then alternating Rows 10 and 11, make 2 more ribs in Color C, 1 rib in Color B and 1 rib in Color D. Then repeating Row 11, make 2 more ribs in Color D, 6 ribs in Color B and 1 rib in Color C. Fasten off.

"V's"—Turn, join Color C to tip of 1 point, ch 1, sc in each sc to next point, skipping 2 sc in angle, sl st in ch at tip of point.

ROW 2: Ch 2, turn, skip sl st and last sc, sc in each sc to second from end sc, skipping 2 sc in angle, sl st in end sc. Re­peating this row, make 2 more ribs in Color C, 1 rib in Color B, 2 ribs in Color D, and 3 ribs in Color B. Ch 2, turn, skip sl st and last sc, sc, skip 2 sc in angle, sc and sl st. Fasten off. Fill out each "V" in the same way. Turn and with Color B, work 2 rows of sc around entire rug.

FRINGE: Wind Color B around a 2½" cardboard, cut at 1 end. Tie 1 strand in each sc around edge.

FLOWER: With Color D, ch 2, 6 sc in starting st, sl st in first sc. Ch 1, sc in same sc, (2 sc in next sc) 5 times, sl st in l-ch. Fasten off. Turn, join Color B to 1 sc, * ch 13, skip last st, and putting 1 st in each ch st, make sc, hdc, 2 dc, 3 tr, 3 dc, hdc and sc down to center, sl st in next sc on center. Repeat from * 11 times. Fasten off and sew flower in center of rug.
