Plastic crochet hook size J.
GAUGE: 4 patterns = 2 inches. 4 rows = 2 ¼ inches.

CENTER: With Gray chain (ch) 61 (about 19 inches), yarn over hook, insert in 3rd stitch (st) from hook, pull loop through, yarn over hook, skip 1 st of ch, insert in next st, pull loop through, yarn over and pull through all loops at one time, ch 1 (the ch 1 is termed the eye of the st), * yarn over hook, insert in same space with last st, pull loop through, yarn over hook, skip 1 st of ch, insert in next st, pull loop through, yarn over and pull through all loops at one time, ch 1 (pattern), repeat from * across row, ch 1 more to turn.

2nd Row. Yarn over hook, skip the eye of last st made, insert hook in next st of same pattern, pull loop through, yarn over hook, insert in eye of next pattern, pull loop through, yarn over and pull through all loops at one time, ch 1, * yarn over hook, insert in eye of same pattern, pull loop through, yarn over hook, insert in eye of next pattern, pull loop through, yarn over and pull through all loops at one time, ch 1, repeat from * across row inserting hook in 2nd st of end ch to complete last pattern (29 patterns), ch 1 more to turn. Repeat the 2nd row until piece measures 25 inches. Without cutting yarn work 80 single crochet (s c) on each long side and 58 s c on each short side, join, cut yarn.

BORDER: Attach Pink in 1st st to right of corner, ch 1, yarn over hook, insert in same space, pull loop through, yarn over hook, insert in next st, pull loop through, yarn over and pull through all loops at one time, ch 1, * yarn over hook, insert in same space, pull loop through, yarn over hook, insert in next st, pull loop through, yarn over and pull through all loops at one time, ch 1, repeat from * once, * yarn over hook, insert in same space, pull loop through, yarn over hook, skip 1 s c, insert in next s c, pull loop through, yarn over and pull through all loops at one time, ch 1, repeat from * all around working all corners same as 1st corner, join, ch 2, turn.

2nd Row. Work in pattern same as center section but increasing 1 pattern in each corner, join, cut Pink, turn.

3rd Row. Attach Gray and work same as last row.

4th Row. Same as last row but increasing 2 patterns at each corner, cut Gray, turn.

5th Row. Attach Pink and work same as last row, turn.

6th Row. Same as 2nd row of border.

7th Row. Attach Gray and work same as 4th row of border.

8th Row. Work in pattern increasing 1 pattern at each corner, join, cut Gray, turn.

9th Row. Attach Pink at corner, s c in same space, * ch 3, d c in top of s c just made, skip 2 sts, s c in next st, repeat from * all around, join, cut yarn.
