Small Ball:
J. & P. Coats—10 balls of White or Ecru, or 14 balls of any color,
or
Clark's O.N.T.—16 balls of White, Ecru or any color.
Steel Crochet Hook No. 11.

Runner measures 19 x 43 inches.

GAUGE: 5 sps make 1 inch; 5 rows make 1 inch.

   Starting at bottom of chart, make a chain 22 inches long (15 ch sts to 1 inch). 1st row: Dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in each ch across until 289 dc are made, counting turning ch as 1 dc. Cut off remaining chain. Ch 3, turn. 2nd row: Dc in next 3 dc (bl over bl made); ch 2, skip 2 dc, dc in next dc (sp over bl made); make 93 more sps, dc in next 2 dc, dc in top st of turning ch. Ch 3, turn. 3rd row: Bl over bl, ch 2, dc in next dc (sp over sp made), 36 more sps, 2 dc in next sp, dc in next dc (bl over sp made), make 3 more bls, 12 sps, 4 bls, 37 sps, 1 bl. Ch 3, turn. 4th row: 1 bl, 1 sp, 4 bls, 18 sps, 3 bls, 10 sps, 1 bl, 4 sps, 2 bls, 8 sps, 2 bls, 4 sps, 1 bl, 10 sps, 3 bls, 18 sps, 4 bls, 1 sp, 1 bl. Ch 3, turn. Chart shows one quarter of design. To make second half of each row, repeat the first half, starting at center and working back. Starting at 5th row, follow chart to top. This completes one half of runner; reverse chart and work back to 1st row incl to complete runner. Fasten off.
