Steel crochet hooks No. 2 and No. 0

RUFFLERnd 1—Starting at center of one end of basket, with No. 2 hook work sc through top row, making 4 sc in each 1" around. Rnd 2—Sc, inc evenly to 76 sts. Sl st in 1st sc, turn. Change to No. 0 hook. Rnd 3—Ch 3, 2 dc at base of ch-3, * skip 1 st, through back loops only work 3 dc in next st. Repeat from * around. Join last dc with sl st to top of start­ing ch-3. Turn. Rnd 4—Sc in same place as sl st, * skip 2 sts, dc in next st, (ch 3, sc in top of dc, dc in same place as last dc) 3 times; skip 2 sts, sc in next st—shell made. Repeat from * around. Join and end off.

TOP—With No. 0 hook join to sl st of rnd 2 of Ruffle. Rnd 1—Ch 3, 2 dc at base of ch-3, * skip 1 st, through back loop only work 3 dc in next st. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to top of ch-3. Rnd 2—Ch 3, 2 dc at base of ch-3, * skip 2 sts, 3 dc through both loops of next st. Repeat from * around. Join. Repeat rnd 2 until 7" from joining. Next rnd—Sc in each st. Edging—Same as rnd 4 of Ruffle. Join and end off.

Finishing—Fold sides of bag inward to­ward center, forming gussets. Pull draw­strings through 2nd row below edging. Knot ends of each drawstring together, careful not to twist. Tack knots to center front and back of bag.
