Useful edgings with endless application. Ranging from airy daintiness for light, delicate work to dignified distinction for more formal pieces, they provide a noteworthy finish to clothes and household linens alike. Materials suggested: American Thread Company "Silkine", "Star" or "Gem" Mercerized Crochet Cotton sizes 20 to 50. "Silkine" or Star Pearl Cotton size 5, "De Luxe" Crochet and Knitting Cotton. For dainty Edging use American Thread Company "Silkine", Mercerized Crochet Cotton sizes 50 to 100 or "Silkine" Tatting Cotton, White or Colors.
Ch 7, join to form a ring, ch 1, work 12 s c into ring.
2nd Row. 1 s c in first s c, 3 d c in next st, repeat all around.
3rd Row. Ch 7, picot in 5th st, ch 2, s c in center of petal, ch 7, picot in 5th st, ch 2, s c bet. petals, repeat from beginning all around. Repeat motifs for desired length joining them together at picots as illustrated. Work a row of picot loops across edge and 1 row of 5 ch loops.
Next Row. 7 s c in 1st 3 loops, ch 6, turn, sl st in 1st s c of last scallop, ch 1, turn, 10 s c over loop just made, 7 s c over next 2 loops and repeat across row.
Finish straight edge of lace with 1 row of 1 ch meshes.
