Useful edgings with endless application. Ranging from airy daintiness for light, delicate work to dignified distinction for more formal pieces, they provide a noteworthy finish to clothes and household linens alike. Materials suggested: American Thread Company "Silkine", "Star" or "Gem" Mercerized Crochet Cotton sizes 20 to 50. "Silkine" or Star Pearl Cotton size 5, "De Luxe" Crochet and Knitting Cotton. For dainty Edging use American Thread Company "Silkine", Mercerized Crochet Cotton sizes 50 to 100 or "Silkine" Tatting Cotton, White or Colors.
Ch 24, tr c in 5th ch from hook, * ch 3, skip 3 sts, tr c in next st, repeat from * 3 times, ch 2, skip 2 sts, tr c in last st, ch 7, turn.
2nd Row. Tr c in tr c, ch 3, * thread over, insert in tr c, work off 2 loops, thread over, insert in same st, work off 2 loops twice, thread over, insert in same st and work off all loops on needle, ch 3, repeat from * 3 times, ch 7, turn.
3rd Row. Repeat 1st row.
4th Row. Repeat 2nd row and ch 5, d tr c in base of 4th row, ch 5, d tr c in base of 3rd row, ch 5, sl st in base of 2nd row, ch 3, sl st in base of 1st row, turn, 9 tr c over first loop, 10 tr c over next loop, 9 tr c over next loop and continue 5th and 6th rows same as 1st row. Repeat for desired length.
