J. & P. Coats or Clark's O.N.T. Pearl Cotton, Size 5: 3 balls of No. 8 Blue and 2 balls each of No. 11 Orange and No. 48 Hunter's Green, or
J. & P. Coats Knit-Cro-Sheen: 1 ball each of No. 25 Crystal Blue, No. 43 Dk. Yellow and No. 48 Hunter's Green, and
J. & P. Coats or Clark's O.N.T. Six Strand Embroidery Floss: 2 skeins each of No. 100 Fast Red, No. 12 Black and No. 1 White.
Milward's Steel Crochet Hook No. 7.
Pink bath towel, hand towel and wash­cloth.

LARGE GOLD FISH (Make 4) ... Starting at mouth with Orange, ch 5. 1st row: 6 tr in 5th ch from hook. Ch 1, turn. 2nd row: 2 sc in first tr, sc in each tr across, 2 sc in top of turning chain. Ch 4, turn. 3rd row: 2 tr in first sc, tr in each sc across, 3 tr in last sc. Ch 1, turn. 4th and 5th rows: Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows. 6th row: Repeat 2nd row. 7th row: Skip first sc, tr in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. 8th row: Sc in each tr across. Ch 4, turn. 9th row: Skip first sc, tr in next 2 sc, dc in next sc, half dc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc, half dc in next sc, dc in next sc, tr in next sc, dc in next sc, half dc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc, half dc in next sc, dc in next sc, tr in next 3 sc. Break off. Now work around as follows: Attach Blue to top of turning chain on last row, sc in same place, sc in next 2 sts, half dc in next st, dc in next 5 sts, half dc in next st, 3 sc in next st, half dc in next st, dc in next 5 sts, half dc in next st, sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in same place as last sc, sc closely around to tip of mouth, in tip make sc, ch 5 and sc; sc closely around remaining side, end­ing with 2 sc in same place as first sc. Join and break off.

TAIL ... Starting at long side with Blue, ch 30. 1st row: Tr in 5th ch from hook and next 10 ch, ch 16, sc in 2nd ch from hook, half dc in next ch, dc in next ch, tr in next 9 ch, dc in next ch, half dc in next ch, sc in next ch, 2 sc in bar of next tr, sc in next ch, half dc in next ch, dc in next ch, tr in next 9 ch, dc in next ch, half dc in next ch, sc in next ch, 2 sc in same place as last sc, sc closely around skipping 2 sc made over tr between fins. Join and break off. Sew to back of fish.

EYE ... Starting at center with White, ch 2, 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join and break off. Sew in place, embroider center with Black French knot. Em­broider Body with Red Embroidery Floss.

MEDIUM GOLD FISH (Make 3) ... Work as for Large Gold Fish until 4 rows are completed. 5th row: Skip first sc, tr in next sc, dc in next sc, half dc in next sc, sc in next sc, half dc in next sc, dc in next sc, tr in next sc, dc in next sc, half dc in next sc, dc in next sc, tr in next 2 sc. Break off.
   Now work around as follows: Attach Blue to top of turning chain on last row, sc in same place, sc in next 2 sts, half dc in next st, dc in next st, half dc in next st, sc in next st, 3 sc in next st, sc in next st, half dc in next st, dc in next st, half dc in next st, sc in next 3 sts, sc closely around to tip of mouth, in tip make sc, ch 4 and sc; sc closely around remaining sides. Join and break off.

TAIL ... Starting at long side with Blue, ch 17. 1st row: Tr in 5th ch from hook, tr in next 4 ch, ch 9, sc in 2nd ch from hook, half dc in next ch, dc in next ch, tr in next 3 ch, dc in next ch, half dc in next ch, 2 sc in bar of next tr, half dc in next ch, dc in next ch, tr in next 3 ch, dc in next ch, half dc in next ch, sc in next ch. Continue making sc's around as for Large Gold Fish. Join and break off. Sew Tail to Body.
   Make eyes as for Large Gold Fish. Embroider Body with Red.

SMALL GOLD FISH (Make 2) ... Work as for Large Gold Fish until 2 rows are completed. 3rd row: Tr in first sc, dc in next sc, half dc in next sc, sc in next sc, in next sc make half dc, dc and half dc; sc in next sc, half dc in next sc, dc in next sc, 2 tr in next sc. Ch 1, turn. 4th row: Sc in first tr and in each st across. Break off. Turn. At­tach Blue to first sc, sc in same place, sc in next 5 sc, 3 sc in next sc, sc in next 6 sc, sc closely around, making sc, ch 5 and sc at tip of mouth as be­fore. Join and break off.

TAIL ... With Blue ch 15, dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next 4 ch, ch 8, sc in 2nd ch from hook, half dc in next ch, dc in next 4 ch, half dc in next ch, sc in bar of next dc, half dc in next ch, dc in next 4 ch, half dc in next ch, sc in next ch. Break off.

EYE ... With White, ch 2, 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join and break off. Sew Eye in place with Black French knot. Embroider Body with Red.

LEAVES ... Make 2 Large and 4 Small Leaves as for Water Lily Bath Set.

WAVES ... With Blue make a chain slightly longer than length desired for each wave. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Break off.

BUBBLE (Make 27) ... With Blue, work as for Eye of Large Fish.
   Sew 3 Large Fish, 1 Small Fish and 2 Large Leaves to bath towel. Sew 1 Large Fish, 2 Medium Fish and 2 Small Leaves to hand towel. Sew 1 Medium Fish, 1 Small Fish and 2 Small Leaves to washcloth. Sew Waves and Bubbles in place.
