Fiesta Doily Pattern

Fiesta Doily Pattern

So new, so different! Different, too, the trick of placing doily or mat to hang over table's edge. Belastraw—lovely, too, for bureau scarves.

MATERIALS REQUIRED:
DRITZ Luxury Belastraw Art. 110 or DRITZ Sparkle Belastraw Art. 146, 5 tubes
DRITZ Metallic Yarn Art. 114, 2 tubes
DRITZ Metal Crochet Hook No. 2

The above amount of material is sufficient to make 4 place mats about 19½" in diameter.

With Belastraw, ch 10. Join with sl st to form ring.
1st rnd: Ch 3 (to count as 1 dc), 23 dc in ring. Join with sl st in 3rd st of starting chain.
2nd rnd:Ch 4 (to count as 1 tr), holding back the last loop of each tr on hook make 2 tr in same place as sl st, yo and draw through all 3 loops on hook (cluster made), * ch 5, skip next dc, holding back the last loop of each tr on hook make 3 tr in next dc, yo and draw through all 4 loops on hook (cluster). Repeat from * around joining last ch 5 with sl st in top of 1st cluster (12 clusters). Drop Belastraw, pick up Metallic.
3rd rnd: Sl st in next sp, in each sp make 3 sc, ch 5 and 3 sc. Join with sl st in 1st sc. End off Metallic.
4th rnd: Bring Belastraw to top of next ch-5 loop, sl st in loop, ch 8, tr in same loop, * ch 4, in next loop make tr, ch 4 and tr. Repeat from * around joining last ch-4 with sl st in 4th st of starting ch-8.
5th rnd: Sl st in next sp, ch 4, 4 tr in same sp, 5 tr in each sp around, Join.
6th rnd: Ch 4, cluster in same place as sl st, * ch 6, skip 4 tr, cluster in next tr. Repeat from * around. Join (24 clusters). Drop Belastraw, pick up Metallic.
7th rnd: Sl st in next sp, in each sp make 4 sc, ch 5 and 4 sc. Join and end off Metallic.
8th rnd: Repeat 4th rnd.
9th rnd: Sl st in next sp, ch 4, 4 tr in same sp, * 4 tr in next sp, 5 tr in next sp. Repeat from * around. Join.
10th rnd: Repeat 6th rnd (43 clusters).
11th rnd: Repeat 7th rnd.
12th rnd: Repeat 4th rnd.
13th rnd: Sl st in next sp, ch 4, 3 tr in same sp, 4 tr in each sp around. Join.
14th rnd: Repeat 6th rnd (69 clusters).
15th rnd: Sl st in next sp, in each sp make 3 sc, ch 3 and 3 sc. Join and end off.
