SKIRT-With Blue, ch 42, 1 tr in 6th ch from hook, ch 1, [1 tr and ch 1] in each of next 36 chs, join (with slip st) in 4th ch of ch-5. Rnd 2-Ch 5, skip joined st, 1 tr in next sp, * ch 1, 1 tr in next tr, ch 1, 1 tr in next sp; rpt from STAR around; end, ch 1, join in 4th ch of ch-5. Rnd 3-Ch 1, slip st in first sp, ch 5, 1 tr in next sp, ch 1, [1 tr and ch 1] in each remaining sp, join in 4th ch of ch-5. Rpt rnd 3 eleven times. Fasten off. Waistband-Using Red Six Strand Cotton, work 33 sc along other side of foundation ch of Skirt (spacing sts evenly). Row 2-Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each sc across, fasten off.

BODICE-With Yellow, work 1 dc in first sc of row 2 of Waistband, ch 1, [1 dc and ch 1] in each of next 32 sc (32 sps). Row 2-Ch 4, turn, skip first sp, 1 dc in next sp, [ch 1 and 1 dc] in each remaining sp. Rpt row 2 twice (29 sps in row 4). Fasten off. Shoulder Strap-Turn, skip first 3 dc, with Yellow, work 1 dc in next dc, [ch 1 and 1 dc] in each of next 2 dc (2 sps). Row 2-Ch 4, turn, 1 dc in 2nd dc, ch 1, 1 dc in next dc. Row 3-Ch 4, turn, 1 dc in 2nd dc, ch 1, 1 dc in 3rd ch of ch-4. Rpt row 3 three times. Fasten off leaving 7 inches of thread to sew, skip 4 sps for underarm and sew end of Strap to next 2 sps at front of Bodice. Work other Shoulder Strap to correspond.

SLEEVE-Rnd 1-With Yellow, work 1 dc in center dc at underarm, ch 1, [1 dc and ch 1] in each of next 2 dc, [1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1] in each of 6 sps of Shoulder Strap, [1 dc and ch 1] in each of next 2 dc at underarm, join in first dc (17 dc in rnd). Rnd 2-Ch 1, skip joined st, slip st in next sp, ch 4, 1 dc in next sp, ch 1, [1 dc and ch 1] in each remaining sp, join in 3rd ch of ch-4. Rpt rnd 2 twice. Rnd 5-Ch 3, skip joined st, 1 dc in each dc around, skip ch-3, slip st in first dc. Rnd 6-Ch 3, skip joined dc, 1 dc in each remaining dc, skip ch-3, join in first dc. Rpt rnd 6 three times. Fasten off. Work other Sleeve to correspond. With Yellow, work a row of sc around neck edge (about 1 sc in each sp). Rows 2 and 3-Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each sc across. Fasten off.

APRON-Using Black Six Strand Cotton, ch 12, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in each of next 10 chs, fasten off. Row 2-Turn, using Red Six Strand Cotton, work 1 dc in first sc, * ch 1, 1 dc in next sc; rpt from STAR across (10 sps), fasten off. Row 3-Turn, with Black, work 2 sc in first dc, 2 sc in next sp, * 1 sc in next dc, 2 sc in next sp, rpt from STAR 8 times, 2 sc in next dc, fasten off. Row 4-Turn, with Yellow, work 1 tr in first sc, * ch 2, skip next sc, 1 tr in next sc; rpt from STAR across (17 tr), fasten off. Row 5- Turn, with Black, work 1 sc in each st and each sp across (33 sc), fasten off. Row 6-Turn, with Red, 1 dc in first sc, * ch 1, skip next sc, 1 dc in next sc; rpt from STAR across, fasten off. Row 7-Rpt row 5. Rpt last 4 rows for pattern until 23 rows from beginning. Sew Apron to foundation ch of Skirt at center front.

HAT-With Blue, ch 60, 1 dc in 6th ch from hook, * ch 1, skip next ch, 1 dc in next ch; rpt from STAR across (28 sps). Row 2-Ch 4, turn, skip first 2 sps, 1 dc in next dc, * ch 1, 1 dc in next dc; rpt from STAR to last 2 sps; end, ch 1, 1 dc in 4th ch of turning ch. Row 3-Ch 4, turn, skip first 2 sps, 1 dc in next dc, * ch 1, 1 dc in next dc; rpt from STAR to last 2 sps; end, ch 1, 1 dc in 3rd ch of ch-4. Rpt row 3 seven times. Fasten off. Fold at center and sew seam at back as shown on page 9. Trimming-With Red, chain for 10 inches, fasten off. Leaving 2½ inches of Trimming free at each end, sew the center 5 inches flat on 2nd row of Hat, tie the 2 ends together at back as streamers.

VEST-With Blue, ch 10, 1 dc in 4th ch from hook, 1 dc in each of next 6 chs. Row 2-Ch 3, turn, 1 dc in 2nd dc, 1 dc in each of next 5 dc, 1 dc in top of turning ch. Rpt row 2 until 14 rows from beginning. Fasten off. Shoulder Strap-With Blue, work 3 dc around post of end st of 2nd row of Vest. Row 2-Ch 3, turn, 1 dc in 2nd dc, 1 dc in next dc. Row 3-Ch 3, turn, 1 dc in 2nd dc, 1 dc in top ch of turning ch. Rpt row 3 seven times. Fasten off leaving 6 inches of thread to sew, skip 3 rows for underarm and sew end of Strap to edge of next row at back of Vest. Work other Shoulder Strap to correspond. To dress Doll, see patternbook page. Put on Vest having opening at front, with Red, lace it together and tie a bow.
